However, the price of an import brand high voltage sodium lamp is no more than one thousand and five hundred yuan. Therefore, even if the power consumption of LED street lights is only one-half of that of high-pressure sodium lamps, the cost recovery period of LED street lights is much longer because of their high cost. The high cost will still be the biggest obstacle for the popularization of LED street lights.
The core component of LED street light is chip, which directly determines the light performance. However, some unscrupulous merchants use the low-cost chips and deceive the customers, which causes the hidden trouble of products and the direct financial loss of customers.
If the power supply fails, we may find out the problems such as "the whole lamp is off", "partially damaged", "individual LED lamp bead is dead", and "the whole lamp is flickering" during the test and inspection process. It is also necessary to pay attention to the safety problems. We need to check whether there is earth leakage protection for street light power source or not. Besides, we also need to check the quality of barretter and the waterproof and dustproof level. What’s more, we are supposed to check whether there is sensitivity test for breaker.
The theoretical service life of domestic LED light source is supposed to be one hundred thousand hours. However, the practical service life is much shorter due to the heat dissipation problems. The light attenuation of LED light source is one of the factors that affect the popularization of LED street lights. Some manufacturers that use domestic LED light source claim that the service life of LED light source can be fifty thousand to sixty thousand hours without any practical data or laboratory data. However, in the process of using, the problem of LED damage exists in many products due to the light attenuation, which causes great damage to the reputation of LED street lights.
