The Classification of Solar Lighting
Solar lighting uses solar energy as energy, realizes photoelectric conversion through solar panels, uses batteries to store electricity during the day, and supplies power to the light source through the solatr controller at night to achieve functional lighting.
As we continue to move towards renewable energy sources, solar street lighting becomes an ever increasing and popular choice on the market. Taking away the need for power from the grid, these self-sufficient devices are able to capture the energy of sunlight. This powers a rechargeable battery inside that runs a lamp throughout the entire night.
Solar street lighting is traditionally fitted on a raised platform to optimise the amount of sun exposure. Photovoltaic (PV) panels are either mounted alongside the light or connected within the pole to capture said sunlight. In essence, the unit becomes mostly self-sufficient and provides a host of benefits for users.
Solar engineering lighting
1.According to the lighting power: The lighting power ranges from 10W to 200W. The application scenes range from rural roadways to highways and other roads. At present, the most common one is the 6-meter solar street light used in new rural areas.
2. According to the product characteristics of different manufacturers, solar engineering lights can be divided into split solar street lights, solar panel lights, and all-in-one solar street lights. In China, low-end split solar street lights still dominate the market; in foreign countries, solar panel lights are more popular due to logistics costs and ease of installation.
Solar civil lighting
1.From the aspect of use, solar civil lighting can be divided into functional lighting and decorative lighting. When people look for functional lighting, they will pay more attention to the brightness and effect of lighting (such as continuous lighting); it is more suitable for areas with a lack of electricity or low electricity, or areas that require brightness. These areas are mainly concentrated in Southeast Asia, Africa, or rural areas.
When people look for decorative lighting, they will pay more attention to the contrast of the atmosphere, and attaches great importance to the integration of lights and the environment, so there are relatively high requirements for the shape of the product and lighting effects (light direction, light type and color temperature, etc.), and there are certain requirements for brightness. It is more suitable for urban or more developed countries;
2.From the aspect of main light types and application scenarios, solar civil lights is divided into flat panel lights, flood lights, post lights, solar household lights (both indoor and outdoor), wall lights, lawn lights, buried lights, other garden lights, etc.
Solar lighting solutions have a long-term good impact on the environment, help shape urban and rural neighborhoods, and promote the economic and social development, in addition to many other advantages such as cost and performance. Going solar is a means for public stakeholders to deliver a better service than simply “switching to green energy.”
