Many solar LED street light customers (even some sales staff in the industry) often

use watt as parameters to measure the street light and generally believe that the

Measuring a led street light should be how much lighting value it has, such as light efficiency, luminous flux, color rendering index, color temperature, and other parameters. The wattage is only the power of the street light, and it is the energy consumption data. If the performance parameters of street lights are the same, the lower the power consumption, the entire street lamp will be more energy-saving, therefore it will last much longer with the same configuration. Otherwise simply buying a street light based on watt will only provide a great opportunity for some inferior products.


In order to avoid this situation, the price per thousand lumens is generally used to measure the cost-effectiveness of LEDs in international. This parameter indicates that the end customer is buying brightness, which is the number of lumens, not power consumption. And this parameter is reduced with the improvement of LED light efficiency, which is also a more scientific parameter.
